CPC Alumni Association Spotlight

Mason R. Lewallen

Council Alumni Co-Chair

Young Adult Member

My name is Mason Lewallen. I’m an Eagle Scout from Troop 530 in Tualatin, Oregon. I began Scouting when I was 7 years old. Since then, it has been one of the most important parts of my life. My Scouting journey led me to many leadership roles, particularly in the Order of the Arrow. In my time I’ve served in various roles, most recently as Section Chief for section G16.

My main goal with the Alumni Relations Committee is to provide opportunities to keep former youth involved in the Scouting program. I want to reach out to young adults between the ages of 18 and 30. It is crucial to maintain the connection with Alumni in this age range to be able to enhance the youth experience. These individuals have a fresh mindset of the youth experience in Scouting that is valuable for serving as unit leaders or advisor to youth. They can effectively communicate with youth and understand what they need to succeed. These individuals also have a fresh perspective of what can be improved in Scouting. This is important as we need to be continually growing and improving as an organization to remain relevant.
