International Scouting Opportunities in the CPC

International Scouting is open to all generations of Scouts and adult leaders.

Scouts from all part of the world are ambassadors of good will, making friends, breaking down barriers of color, of creed, and of class. That surely is a great Crusade. I advice you to do your best in that work, for soon you will be a man, and if quarrels should arise between any nations it is upon you that the burden of responsibility will fall. (Scouting For Boys, Chapter 9 The World Brotherhood of Scouting)

World Scouting Symbols and Initiatives

The World Crest is a Scout emblem that has been worn by an estimated 250 million Scouts since the Scouting movement was founded in 1907 by Lord Baden-Powell at the experimental camp on Brownsea Island in the UK. During this camp, he issued the first from of the World Crest, a copper fleur-de-lis badge, to all participants. It is still worn by 54 million Scouts in 216 countries and territories and is one of the world’s best-known symbols.

In Scouts for SDGs, young people are solving the biggest challenges facing the world today, from poverty to hunger and climate change. Scouts are making the world’s largest coordinated youth contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

Young people are accelerating sustainable development and transforming their communities while becoming active global citizens. The 17 SDGs align with the Scout Movement’s mission of building a better world.

Started in September 2011, Messengers of Peace is a global initiative designed to inspire millions of young men and women in more than 220 countries and territories to work toward peace. Using social media and other Scouting networks the initiative lets Scouts from around the world share what they’ve done and inspire fellow Scouts to undertake similar efforts in their own communities. The initiative is inspired by the World Scout Committee, administered by the World Scout Bureau, and driven by youth volunteers worldwide.
