How to Easily Promote Your Scout Unit this Easter

An Easter Egg Hunt is an “Eggs-elent” way to Promote Scouting!

Cub Scout Pack 510 had a brilliant idea: why not promote their Scouts using the City of Gladstone’s Easter Egg Hunt!

Here’s how they did it:

  1. Built a relationship with the host community center and the city, offering to “serve” when and where they can. (The Pack also hosts a hot cocoa stand during the city’s holiday/Christmas tree lighting.)
  2. Set a date for an upcoming recruiting night soon after Easter.
  3. Downloaded and filled out Peer to Peer cards from National here. (You can also use the bookmarks.)
  4. Ordered FREE stickers from https://cpcscouting.org/marketing (Click the “Order” buttons.) and uploaded the Peer-to-Peer cards for the CPC to print for them.
  5. Picked up the stickers and cards from the CPC Service Center.
  6. Recieved 1,000 fillable, blue and yellow plastic eggs from the City.
  7. Scouts and parents stuffed the eggs with stickers, the card and a piece of candy and will deliver them to the hunt
  8. Promoted their fun activity/service on Facebook, taggin the City and the CPC.

Sample Social Media Post:

Cub Scout Pack 510 is Egg-cited for Easter!
Our Scouts have been busy little bunnies—filling eggs for the upcoming City of Gladstone Annual Easter Egg Hunt! Service is part of what Scouting is all about, and we’re proud to help make this community tradition extra special for local families thanks to support from Cascade Pacific Council, Scouting America.
Now it’s time for the fun!
Bring your baskets, invite your friends, and join us at Gladstone High School on Saturday, April 4th for a morning full of smiles, surprises, and sweet treats.
Keep an eye out—you just might spot some Pack 510 Scouts hopping around and lending a helping hand!
We love serving our community and celebrating together. See you at the hunt!
