Council Monitoring of Wildfires
The council camping team is continually monitoring wildfires throughout the summer camp season. We also have excellent relationships with regional forest and wildfire mitigation teams and crews who keep us informed throughout the fire season.
In-Camp Fire Drills
In order to be better prepared for incidents, all of our camps conduct a fire drill on the first day of arrival.
Council Procedures for Evacuations
The entire camp will evacuate to designated rally locations.Β These may vary by incident and the possible threat to evacuees.Β Council staff will make contact to unit leadership not attending camp to provide incident information and pick-up directions for their attendees.Β
