Community Service
Making a Greater Impact By Serving Our CommunityA Scout is Helpful
Throughout the year, Scouts across the Cascade Pacific Council serve their communities. From collecting food during our annual Scouting for Food/Walk and Knock drive to Eagle Scout projects to regular weekly service, Scouts have proven to be service-minded.
About Scouting for Food/Walk and Knock
An annual tradition since 1986, Scouting for Food rallies Scouts across the nation to collect food for local food banks.
Cascade Pacific Council Scouts will hit the streets on the first Saturday in March to collect food for the hungry and provide it to specific local food banks throughout the greater Northwest.
In Clark County and Cowlitz County, Washington, the entire community gathers for a Walk and Knock. Here the newspaper distributes the bags and Scouts and community members go door to door asking for donations of food. http://walkandknock.org.
Quick Facts
Despite a global pandemic, Scouts here in the CPC continued to serve on an incredible level, donating time at food banks, collecting food and conducting local clean-ups. Meanwhile, our Eagle Scouts logged more than 72,000 hours in their final Eagle Scout Service Projects.
