Scouting America has recognized our longtime volunteer leader Dolly Olson, with the West Coast region’s highest annual award: the Silver Antelope.
For volunteers whose work affects the Scouting movement on the council, territory and national levels, the Scouting America bestows what is known as the “Silver family” of national annual awards. This includes the council-level Silver Beaver, regional-level Silver Antelope and national-level Silver Buffalo. Recipients are chosen based on their exemplary service, leadership, and lasting impact on the youth and communities they serve.
Dolly will be formally presented with the Silver Antelope Award at Scouting America’s National Annual Meeting Luncheon on Wednesday, May 14th in Orlando, Florida.

Dolly started her service to Scouting America when her sons started Cub Scouts. And in the decades since, she has served in a multitude of volunteer leadership roles for the council and the region as an adult leadership program course director, membership & program leader and board member. Most recently, she has been serving as the Council Vice President of Membership, guiding volunteers and staff on best practices to invite new families into the Scouting movement.
