2025 NESA Scholarship Winners

Meagan Benson, Cascadia District - Troop 5351

Meagan Benson is the recipient of a one-year $7,000 Hansen & Mary Hall Scholarship.  She has been in scouting for the last 13 years and joined Troop 5351, Cascadia District, on the first day girls were allowed to join the program.  Prior to this she was in an all-girls Explorer club.   This fall she will be starting her freshman year of college.

Meagan feels so fortunate to have been awarded this scholarship to help pay for college and she is so excited for this new chapter. Meagan wants to encourage all college or trade school bound Eagle Scouts to consider the National Eagle Scout Association scholarships.

Hudson “Noah” Aarhus, Spirit Lake - Troop 393

Noah is the recipient of a one-year $6,000 from the Lester S. McElwain Eagle Scholarship. Noah joined scouting at the age of 12 and his first memory of scouting was summer camp at Camp Meriwether which got him hooked!  Through his years in scouting, he learned that he enjoys leading others and organizing fun activities. He especially enjoys when new younger scouts joined the troop so he can mentor them and make them welcome which he realized he would like to become a teacher.

Noah is planning to attend Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN in the fall to study Elementary Education.  As like Meagan, he encourages new Eagle Scouts going to college or trade schools to apply to Eagle Scout scholarships.
