When the world shut down, we showed grit.
The day the coronavirus pandemic hit and shut everything down, thousands of Scouts, volunteers and Cascade Pacific Council staff did more than pivot to survive.
We showed grit.
WE took a 110-year old handbook and recreated Scouting for a new era. But we also served our communities, adventured with family and grew in leadership skills, just as we’ve done for more than a century.
Here are just some of the stats and facts that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that GRIT STARTS HERE.
What did Scouts in the CPC do during the pandemic? We made masks for healthcare workers, cleared graffiti, earned thousands of advancement awards, hiked thousands of miles with our families and so much more.
New Programs Developed by the CPC and Volunteers
2,059 Scouts across the USA earned thousands of merit badges & advancement awards taught by CPC volunteers and staff.
We shipped 3,920 Adventure Kits to 40 states. Families hiked more than 2,300 miles and completed hundreds of adventure challenges
More than 450 families enjoyed safe, state park-like camping on CPC properties on the Oregon Coast and the Cascade Mountains.
