Cub Scout Leaders

Baloo Training

Prepare for camp with Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training

This is typically a two-day training event that introduces Cubmasters, den leaders, other pack leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping.

Participants who complete this training course will:

  • Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA outdoor program.
  • Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a successful Cub Scout-Level overnight activity.
  • This training is required for any adult(s) who is in charge of planning a pack campout. training is an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for units interested in offering a camping component to their Pack activities.

Scouts BSA Leaders

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the outdoors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops in order to be considered trained.

Shooting Sports Training

Shooting Sports are among the most popular and safest program activities in Scouting. We have invested in top-notch equipment for your Scout’s safety, advancement and fun at our camp properties, backed by renowned training and certification for leaders. 

Leave No Trace Instructor Training

Participants learn Leave No Trace principles, skills, and ethics through a combination of presentation, discussion, and hands-on activities. They learn and practice techniques for teaching these concepts. Those completing the course will be Leave No Trace Trainers, recognized by the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics

Climbing Training

Climbing is an activity in Scouting that requires specialized training to facilitate outings for your unit and our Climbing Committee trainers are the best the BSA has to offer. Their trainings follow the strict guidelines set out by BSA National committees and the guide to safe scouting.

Survival Skills (Open to Scouts BSA Youth and Adults)

The skills of wilderness survival can help make everything right again. Thinking through the challenges that face us and coming up with good solutions are vital to taking care of ourselves in the outdoors, especially when we must get out of difficulties.

Everything you need to know to take your Scouts Fishing! The CAI Training courses are facilitated by a team of CAI Course Directors and their staff of Certified Angling Instructors.  All instructors maintain a focus on providing enhancements to your fishing program and serving our Scouts.
