Collecting Member Input for the Current Long-Range Property Plan

The Cascade Pacific Council is currently collecting input for the newest iteration of its Long-Rage Property Plan from the Scouting members of the CPC.  Please follow the link below to take a survey to voice your thoughts on the council’s needs, wants, and dreams for the future direction of its properties (youth members, please find and adult to supervise you while taking the survey).

The Long-Range Property Plan (LRPP) is a cyclical process of assessment and visioning. It ensures our camps and facilities evolve alongside the needs of our youth members and adult volunteers.

Project Governance

The LRPP is drafted by the council properties committee following the collection of usage and financial data and input from Scouting members in the Cascade Pacific Council.  After compiling all of the information, the properties committee submits a report of their findings and recommendations to the council executive committee for adoption.

Strategic Framework

The LRPP Volunteer Task Force utilizes a four-step analytical process to establish 5-year goals for our properties.

1. Current Status: Assessment of existing facilities and usage.
2. Future Objectives: Identifying desired outcomes for property utility.
3. Implementation Strategy: Defining the roadmap for transitions.
4. Goal Setting: Finalizing specific 5-year targets for individual properties.

Member Survey & Input

A foundational element of the LRPP is a comprehensive Member Survey completed by the youth members and adult volunteers to gather information on:

• Preferred camping styles and outdoor programs.
• Desired property amenities and infrastructure.
• General satisfaction and feedback on current sites.

Council Executive Board Oversight

The Long Range Property Plan is a governed document. To ensure transparency and fiscal responsibility, the final draft of each LRPP iteration undergoes a formal review and adoption process by the Council Executive Board.

Current Long-Range Property Plan

The current LRPP was drafted and approved in 2014.  It set the direction for the properties in the CPC for the next several years.  That plan and the results of the member survey conducted as a part of the plan can be found on the right of this page in the documents section.

In late 2019 the process began to update the plan for the next five years.  The COVID pandemic forced a pause of that effort and the significant membership changes in the years following extended the pause.

In late 2024 a team was put together to once again update the plan.  Throughout 2025 the properties committee collected data and visited all of the properties in anticipation of delivering an updated LRPP in the Spring of 2026.
