Unit & MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

Your step-by-step tutorial for renewing individual memberships & unit charters
Membership Renewal Process

Member Renewals are now done through my.scouting.org and are done on an individual basis. Your annual registration ends 12 months from when you first signed up or last renewed. Prior to your membership in Scouting America expiring, you will receive notifications that you need to renew starting 90 days from your expiration date.

If you are in need of financial assistance for this renewal process, you will need the assistance of the Cascade Pacific Council, so DO NOT reregister through my.scouting.org. Instead, reach out to us 30 days BEFORE you expire by filling out the form found here. This must be done on an individual basis.

For further questions that may need to be answered, please check out https://www.scouting.org/resources/unit-and-membership-renewal/. If you do not find your answer there, reach out to our Membership department by emailing 492.membership@scouting.org.

Unit Renewal Process

2024 is the first year where the renewal of members are separate from the unit itself. The process for renewing a unit is completely NEW and does not follow the way things were done in the past. This will take place in my.scouting.org and is available only to your unit’s Key 3.  The deadline for our Council’s units to be renewed no longer takes place at the end of the year and will be on March 31st, 2025.

In addition to the online process above, each unit in the Cascade Pacific Council will be expected to turn in to Council their Annual Charter Agreement with their charter organization and a Unit Code of Conduct. This can be given to the Commissioners in your District.

The most up to date information on how this process works and the changes that have happened will be found directly from National at https://www.scouting.org/resources/unit-and-membership-renewal/. If you have further questions, please reach out to your District Executive to aid you in this process.

Boy+Girl Troop Pilot Program Status

Updated April 22, 2025:  we expect to hear from Scouting America in October 2025 whether the combined boy & girl troop in the Scouts BSA program will continue. If so, the launch is expected to be in February of 2026.  This is subject to change at any time.
