Our Districts

Teamwork, leadership, innovation and fun. These are the Districts of the CPC.

What is a District?

In Scouting America, a district is a geographical subdivision of a local Scout Council providing direct support to the packs, troops, crews, and ships in its specific territory.

Core Functions of a District

Every district is responsible for four standard functions to ensure the success of local Scouting units:

  1. Membership: Organizes new units and recruits youth and adult volunteers.
  2. Finance: Assists with council fundraising efforts, such as the annual “Friends of Scouting” campaign.
  3. Program: Supports unit activities through training, camp promotion, and advancement/recognition.
  4. Unit Service: Provides direct coaching to unit leaders via a staff of volunteer commissioners.

Leadership: The District “Key 3”

A district is led by three individuals who work together to coordinate all local activities:

  • District Chair: A volunteer who leads the district committee.
  • District Commissioner: A volunteer who oversees unit service and unit health.
  • District Executive: A professional Scouter who provides full-time administrative and professional support.

Impact for Generations.
Prepared for Life.

This is more than a motto. It is a manifesto. It is our promise to the community and to every parent and child who Scouts with us. By Scouting in the Cascade Pacific Council (CPC) of Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America), every youth can learn to make an impact on the world around them and be more prepared for career and life.
